Why do women use harsh cleaners?
Western society revolves largely around the buying and selling of consumer products. If a corporation can manufacture a product cheaply enough, sell it profitably enough, and convince women they need it to feel fresh and clean, then it will.
Today we get bombarded by ads pushing soaps, detergents, shampoos, douches, sprays, and perfumes we don’t even want. Our mothers, sisters, and friends use the chemicals too. Even the natural pheromones that facilitated human evolution are to be banished.
We believe what we’re sold, conform to the program, yet continue to suffer with routine infections, redness, irritation, itching, strong odors, and unusual discharges.
Perhaps we’ve been had. Perhaps the answer is fewer chemicals, not more. Perhaps we get back to basics:
- Bathe daily. Use Nirena around the vagina, not soap or douche. Pat the area dry with a clean towel.
- After using the toilet, wipe front to back to keep fecal bacteria away from the vagina and urinary tract.
- Avoid feminine "hygiene" sprays, which cause allergic reactions and bacterial imbalances.
- Do not douche. Chemicals dry and irritate the vagina, overwhelm natural bacteria, and spread infections.
- Avoid colored or perfumed toilet paper, deodorant pads, and tampons.
